Overview
SEED’s Coastal Biodiversity Conservation Centre (CBCC) in Ghoramara serves as a hub for community-led coastal ecosystem conservation in the Sundarbans. The centre engages local youth, women’s groups and fisherfolk in restoring mangroves and wetlands, while building biodiversity-friendly livelihoods that promote resilience.
Key Activities:
• Eco-education workshops and field exposure for school and college students
• Workshops on biodiversity-friendly livelihoods- sustainable honey collection, eco-friendly crab & fish farming, water hyacinth handicrafts, organic composting, medicinal plant cultivation and eco-tourism.
• Hosting national and international knowledge exchange programmes.
• Community-led mangrove restoration and nursery management.
