Overview

SBIF’s Muskaan initiative offers a holistic ECC (Early Childhood Care) model for climate refugee children aged 0–6 years in remote island villages of the Sundarbans through 2 fully functional ECCCs. The centres provide early stimulation, learning, nutrition, psychosocial and health support to children from highly vulnerable communities lying the foundation for lifelong learning and well-being.

Key Activities:

  • Play-based learning and FLN activities.
  • Psychosocial support and age-appropriate developmental stimulation.
  • Daily nutritious mid-day meals and health supplements.
  • Monthly parental engagement workshops (including WASH, breastfeeding, responsive caregiving).
  • Health screenings, deworming and referral linkages with government health services.
